Representation of dads accused of domestic violence

On Behalf of | Aug 3, 2018 | Protection Orders And Domestic Violence

A previous post on this blog talked about how dads who wind up getting accused of domestic violence during a family law dispute, even if no criminal charges ever get filed have a lot to lose.

Specifically, if a father is not successful in fighting off these allegations, then a judge can order the dad to have only supervised visits and no meaningful say in how the child is raised. In effect, a substantiated allegation of domestic violence can mean that a father loses out on a relationship with his children.

This is why it is so important for a dad who is accused of domestic violence or other abusive behavior to get legal representation in order to defend his rights. If it turns out that there is merit to these allegations, then the attorney at our law office can, while acknowledging the issue, help a man get his life back on track and demonstrate to the judge that he is capable of being a good father for his children even despite a serious mistake.

On other hand, it is a sad fact that many times, a man will face false or grossly exaggerated allegations that are really designed to give the other side a leg up in a child custody dispute or some other legal advantage.

With over 20 years of experience in defending against these sorts of allegations, our attorney knows where the cracks in a fabricated story of abuse are and also knows how to expose these cracks. Our approach of aggressively defending against these sorts of allegations may be what it takes to protect a man’s relationship with his children.
